The ventilated façade is a constructive system using a bearing structure and an anchorage system to superimpose a second open façade (outer layer) on to a first, conventional, closed façade (inner layer), leaving a small separation between them functioning as a continuous circulation air chamber.

Advantages of ventilated façades

There are many advantages of ventilated façades:
● making air circulate between the outer and the inner layer, providing great thermal insulation as it prevents the transmission of heat in summer and insulates it from the cold in winter.
● protecting from damp and substantially improving the acoustic performance of the façade.
● it fulfils an important aesthetic and architectural function thanks to the wide variety of materials existing for covering the outer face: stone, tiles, composite, phenolic, fibre cement and glass.

Ventilated façades are used in houses, commercial buildings and corporate headquarters in both new build and renovation
