Standard Casement Window

A casement window can be fully opened. It turns on hinges at one side of the leaves, generally opening towards the inside of the building. They are normally fitted on the internal plane of the façade, allowing them to be fully opened as they can turn 180º. They can be opened on the right or on the left.

Casement windows have very high thermal and sound insulation qualities thanks to the great impermeability provided by their hermetic pressure seal, the fittings around the edge of the leaf and the greater number of closure points on the frame.

This window is available in PVC and aluminium. In the latter material it is also available with thermal breakAluminium is an excellent conductor of cold and heat and is not an effective thermal insulator. Thermal Break (TB) consists of preventing contact between the outer and inner faces of the window by fitting a rubber separator between the external and internal profiles to eliminate conduction and increase insulation.
Another advantage of TB is that it improves the sound insulation of the window.
. A two-colour finish is possible.

It is recommended to use double glazingDouble glazing – also called insulated glazing or even Climalit – is glazing consisting of at least two panes of glass (interior and exterior) separated by a chamber of dehydrated air guaranteed with a double seal.
Double glazing is an excellent thermal and sound insulator compared to single glazing. Single glazing consists of a single pane of glass and is recommended for internal architecture (internal glass doors, dividing elements, mirrors, environment separators, decorative glass) and external architecture (integrated into rails for balconies or terraces).
to improve the sound insulation.

The casement window is the most requested type

Tilt & Turn Window

There is a variant of the casement window with a bottom hinge fitting.

The tilt and turn window is a solution very much in demand, as it means the window can be opened in two positions and allows draught-free ventilation that cannot be provided by a standard casement window.

This type of window has fittings on the side allowing an alternative turning axis, making it possible to open the window on a horizontal or vertical axis. The way the window opens depends on the direction you turn the handle; if you open it by turning the handle downwards, the window opens fully towards the inside in a horizontal direction; if you open it by turning the handle upwards, it will open like a bottom-hinged window, with limited opening and the window tilting vertically inside.

Its cost is higher because its fittings are more complex. Tilt and turn windows generally allow a slightly smaller glazed area than standard casement windows.
